I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Don Mattrick just announced that Microsoft is back peddling with the XBOne, removing the disastrously awful features we've been bashing them for trying to inflict on us.
    Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

The opportunity of a friggin' lifetime!

Wow... I got a wicked email yesterday!

I've been asked to assist with some renders for the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) car show in Vegas!  It seems that Saturn / GM want to have a few cars at the show, and I've been asked to help create some renders with restyling and performance parts for the Sky and Aura vehicles. How FRIGGIN cool would that be to have SEMA showcase a car I had a hand in creating?!?!?!?! Especially for Saturn, a brand that I have insane loyalty to.

It all started back in December. I am an active member of Saturn Motorsports forums, and after posting some of my artwork on the site, Wes Carter, the head  of Saturn Motorsports contacted me saying he was impressed with my work and asked if I'd be interested in doing some stuff for them. Of course I said "hell yeah" but that was the last I'd heard from him until now. I am awaiting a reply from Wes so I can get more info on the offer, but I'll keep you posted on what goes down!!  And in the end, even if nothing becomes of it, I am still greatly honored to have even been considered to do such a high profile job.


And in case you're wondering just why in the hell Saturn would be a part of SEMA, consider this: In 2005, pro driver Lisa Kubo set the world record for the fastest FWD car. She was driving a Saturn Ion for Saturn Motorsports.
