I got a lot of strange looks from people who were watching me create this piece. They all asked me what it means. Indeed, this neo-surrealist piece is rife with with conceptual imagery, though many of the concepts are disjointed, and not necessarily co-dependantly telling a solidary story.
What is the story? That, fair viewer, is up to you.
It was important for me to capture feelings of foreboding, unease, and suspense. Hopefully viewing this piece is mildly unsettling, horrifically bizzare, inquisitive, inspiring, and oddly beautiful.
Who is the traveler? What is he seeking? Those of you more familliar with my work might have the answer. Those of you who aren't familliar with my work should peruse through some of the more recent additions to my gallery in search of a couple of common ties. Then the mystery of the traveller may begin to unravel...

It's not a strain to write one hundred word about this image. There is a great deal of content to look at. I appreciate how many hours you have spent creating this art work, and your attention to every detail is not unnoticed. As far as I have seen from your previous works you have invented a style for yourself and if you continue creating works like this you will be known for them. What I see here is a world on it's own like a fantasy farm. An isolated local on top of a leg with a view. Not many people live here and the people that live here like being isolated. The, "stranger" is not the focal point, but it does appear to be the strangest thing in the image. The image is dark and alone. I would personally be afraid to step into the crack, never mind wondering how a tree could grow out of an orifice. This is like an ant farm eating out it's home with some thoughts on the best land to settle on. The gear between the knees makes me wonder if the farm can adjust their environment based on the weather. The birds flying out of the hole in the foot make me feel like this is unkempt land like the mountains wear caves and crags over time with erosion. Even so the person on the swing on the tree remind me that no matter how old a place can be people can find ways to integrate themselves into it. This image has time. This image has people. This image has a mood which as creepy as it looks has something to offer to the viewer no matter what mood they are in as long as they understand how organic even rock can be. If I could still DD art on this website I would DD this.
I don't think I've -ever- asked any artist what their work is supposed to mean. They can tell me if they'd like but even that won't explain it because the meaning is intrinsic. Anyway, I'm babbling.
Thank you for offering this up to the group to check out. I love things like this.
I'm glad you like it so much. This piece is part of a larger series as of yet unnamed. But basically, I'm really into creating surreal landscapes and dwellings where they ought not be. And the surrounding theme follows the exploits of the man in the top-hat and his crazy dog. (The dog runs off, traipsing about through all these strange places, getting into mischeif and the man follows along, trying to round him up and bring him home) In a lot of my pieces, both the man and the dog are present, though sometimes hidden... Think of it as almost a "Where's Waldo" situation. Gives people familliar with my art something to look forward to.
