Hydroscopic Blowout

This was a fun one!
2Advanced Studios, a design company that I have a great deal of admiration for, released a Glyph package on their blog, available for all to use.
This was huge for me since it allowed me to merge my design ideas with theirs, and "Hydroscopic Blowout" is the result.

Admittedly, it didn't turn out the way I had imagined it initially, but after a few hours of fiddling with it, I got it to a point where I could start to move in the direction I wanted.

I really hope you like this one. And a big thanks to 2A for releasing your glyphs. You guys are the best!!

wow. this is VERY cool. my first question is "how?" more specifically, what programs did you use? What techniques and tools were applied? And how long did it take? cheers man, great job.

I'm glad you like it.

I used Adobe Photoshop CS3 almost exclusively, applying various resources such as custom brushes, stock photos, and a render supplied from a generous deviant.

Um, as for techniques, I just kind of went by the seat of my pants, following trends as seen all over dA.

Lots and lots of layers put into this, and a whole lot of time. I don't quite remember how long it took me but at least 3 or 4 days worth.
