This marks the first of what I hope to be many full fledged digital matte paintings. Please note: THIS IS NOT STOCK! I dunno where people are getting this idea, but I feel like every couple of months I get a note thanking me for the "wonderful stock". It's kind of funny. Anyways...
Heaven and Hell was an experiment in fantasy landscapes and how various lighting, shading, and coloration can entirely alter the mood.
I used traditional matte painting techniques mixed with some photomanipulation, and worked a little bit of magic through the power of Photoshop... This is the result.
I've often pondered if there is a hellish alternate reality everpresent, but on a different plane... One that can't be seen by the naked eye. If one had goggles to see into this hellish reality, they'd see their surroundings not as they would normally appear, but in tragic disarray... crumbling, decaying, burning... Flesh rotting off the bone. Lovely eh?
Anyway, thanks for taking a look. I'm open to suggestions, comments, questions, etc. as this is a first attempt.
