A Continuum, Collapsed

It's been far too long since I've had the chance to do any art for fun. This was just a spur of the moment creation based on an original photo of my friend ~apsara-fae. She asked me to make it as cool as some of our other collaborations, so I did my best.

The source image was tricky to work with, due to it already being artistic on its own, and not really stock-worthy. Rather than let that stop me, I just tried to incorporate those challenges into the piece.

While this is definitely not my strongest work, it's certainly nice to do something creative that doesn't revolve around someone else's brand.

I keep looking at this, trying to come up with something clever enough to suit it. I won't attempt a critique, because I don't feel I'm educated enough in the medium to provide proper feedback.

I will say, it's a very moving piece, very thought provoking. I'm intrigued by your title, because what I see when I look at this is creation. It's likely her pose, mildly suggestive of giving birth. The chair could just as easily be coming together as blowing apart. (Also, it took downloading the full file to notice that it's a chair. Apparently not as observant as I thought) It looks amazing, technically, and I think I like the painted bits of the model (or whatever it is that makes it look such) with the more realistic planet. Makes her a little more ethereal, a little more like a goddess.

Anyway, to make a long comment short: I think you made it as cool as the others.

This is such an awesome comment. Thank you! I really appreciate your more optimistic perspective of the piece. I tend to be a bit of a pessimist, so my intent was, of course, to show a destructive event... But you're totally right. What's to say that she isn't a goddess in the process of creating something new and beautiful?

Thanks again for your kind and thoughtful words!
